Stewart & Tate Recognized for Work at Katallasso Family Health Center
October 1, 2013 — Stewart & Tate Construction received two awards at last week’s National Association of Church Design Builders (NACDB) convention in Arlington, Texas. Both accolades were presented for the work at the Katallasso Family Health Center in York City.
Katallasso, located in York City’s Salem Square neighborhood, serves the uninsured and underinsured residents of the city and surrounding communities by providing quality health care through general primary health services and wellness education in a Christian environment. The non-profit organization which relies on community donations and contributions to operate, opened its doors in January 2013 and now serves over 225 patients. Renovations were made to a church serving as a community center for Katallasso. The NACDB awards given to Stewart & Tate for the project included a 2013 Merit Award in the category of Projects Less than $1 million and a 2013 Honor Award in the category of Special Recognition—the only of its kind given out at the convention.
Stewart and Tate Construction’s Vice President of Preconstruction services, Jeffrey Packard, attended the conference. Packard, an NACDB Certified Church Consultant who specializes in providing services for church-related and senior care facilities, aided Katallasso in the construction of the center.
The NACDB was established to serve churches through providing experts to aid in the construction process of church facilities. The organization is comprised of designers and builders of churches from all over the U.S.
