Stewart & Tate Breaks Ground on FirstEnergy’s New Met Ed Transmission Building in Reading, Pennsylvania

August 31, 2018 — Metropolitan Edison Company (Met-Ed), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., has contracted Stewart & Tate to construct a new 25,433 SF pre-engineered steel building in Reading, Pennsylvania. The new building will include a wash bay with overhead crane, locker rooms, showers, breakroom, offices and storage for their lineman crews. In order to construct the new building, additional parking needs to be added to the North and South lots, which will be completed prior to the removal of 145 parking spaces from the existing lot. The project is underway and completion is slated for June 2019.
