Larry Brandt Retires After a Lifetime in Construction

October 2, 2026 – After more than five decades in construction, Larry Brandt, Senior Estimator, is beginning a well-earned retirement! Since joining Stewart & Tate in 2011, Larry has been an important part of our team, bringing decades of hands-on construction experience and estimating expertise to the job.

Larry’s construction career began long before he stepped into an estimating role. His first job was when he was just 13 years old, working for a moving company. After graduating from a three-year carpentry and millwork program at Lebanon County Vo-Tech School, he took on hands-on construction work, including remodeling a train station in Lebanon. Over the years, he continued building his knowledge through various construction roles and educational programs, including courses in plan reading, material takeoff, kitchen design and flooring installation.

Following a serious accident, Larry transitioned from fieldwork to the office, beginning his estimating career with Consolidated Construction in 1991. He has spent more than 30 years in estimating, combining his practical construction knowledge with the ability to plan and price projects.

Outside of work, Larry is a longtime car racing enthusiast. In his younger years, he served on the pit crew of a Trans-Am racing team, traveling to races throughout the country. Racing even played a role in his personal life—he met his wife at the Grand Prix in Las Vegas!

Now, Larry and his wife are preparing to relocate to Florida, where he plans to continue following the racing scene, visiting local tracks and, in his words, doing “as little as possible!”

We congratulate Larry on his retirement and thank him for the years of experience, dedication and knowledge he brought to Stewart & Tate. We wish him and his wife all the best in Florida and hope retirement brings plenty of time for family, racing and new adventures!
