Kiwanis Lake Rehabilitation Project Ribbon Cutting
October 7, 2022 – York City’s Kiwanis Lake is one of the most prominent water features in our community. The Rotary Club of York identified this landmark to be its “focus project” to repair and restore the lake– as well as to add new “Smart Lake Technology.” Unfortunately, the lake had suffered in recent decades due to changes in the environment, failing mechanical and maintenance features, as well as an imbalance of wildlife, lake nutrients and water quality.
The three-year restoration project involved Riley Welding & Fabricating and Stewart & Tate, both operating businesses of the Stewart Companies. The restorations completed will allow future generations to enjoy the outdoors and its wildlife, and to get back to core family values of sharing and enjoying a resource like Kiwanis Lake.
We were proud to be part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 6 and wish to thank our company associates who were central to fabricating and supporting the other local businesses in performing their part of the lake restorations. This project could not have been successful without this teamwork and dedication.
