Classroom Renovation Complete at York Catholic High School

August 23, 2019 — Stewart & Tate Construction has completed the renovation of two floors of classrooms at York Catholic High School two weeks ahead of schedule and in time for the 2019-20 academic year.

The renovations entailed demolition of select finishes and installation of new drywall finishes in the classrooms and corridors. New lockers were installed on each floor. Each classroom now has new wardrobe, base cabinets and countertops, new acoustical ceilings and new LVT flooring. A new ceiling mounted projector and screen were installed in each classroom, and select classrooms also received new white boards. A variable refrigeration air conditioning system was installed on each floor, along with an upgraded electrical distribution system and new LED lights and lighting controls to meet current energy standards. A new IT room and two teacher workrooms, one on each floor, were constructed. Additionally, two women’s toilet rooms were demolished and then remodeled to include new ceramic tile floors and walls, solid surface sink countertops, plumbing fixtures and toilet partitions.

Two additional phases of this project are ongoing, including the construction of a 3 level elevator lobby on the end of the renovated classroom wing and installation of upgraded electric service to power the classroom air conditioning equipment and elevator. These final two phases are expected to be complete by the end of November 2019.
